A heat exchanger similar to the one pictured on the right can typically be either cleaned or have a new plate pack installed and be put back into service in 2 to 4 hours, depending on it's condition.

Occasionally, a heat exhanger may become fouled, decreasing its effiency, but that particular unit hasn't been in service all that long since its last cleaning/regasketing or new plate pack installation. The gaskets may very well be in excellent condition and can often times be reused. In a situation such as this, we can open the unit up, wash the plates hanging in place, close it up to the manufacturers specs and test for leaks.

This will save you the cost of a new gasket set!

When the existing gaskets have likely deteriorated to the point that the unit will probably leak after closure we can install a new gasket set at your site or install a new plate pack that you have on hand.

This should be discussed prior to our arrival at your facility.
